I walked six miles yesterday

And a good third of that was uphill. Thankfully another third of it was downhill and the rest was fairly straight even. But still, six miles is a lot of walking.

It was worth it, though. We walked down to a local landmark that neither me nor my partner had ever seen, though we've been living here for years. It was a great outing, and the view was absolutely amazing. What was really neat was that the area surrounding the landmark is dotted with what used to be stone quarries. Me being an ancient history enthusiast, I found this almost as awesome to see as the landmark itself!

The downside, though, is that all that walking is hard on the legs and backside. By the time we got home, we all collapsed immediately. Few of us could find the energy to get back up again to do whatever it is seemed necessary to get through the evening. My other half also came down with something during the day, sadly. Hopefully he'll breeze through it and be fine by tonight.

Now, I do know how this whole "exercise" thing hurts. Anytime you do anything intensive like we did yesterday, you always hurt more the next day. So today is likely to be a very, very long day. So I fully expect to have legs and buns of steel, right? Uh huh. I can dream...
