Three things are affecting my life in a big way this week. They are all massive things (for me, at least), and even though I'm looking forward to all three, I am also incredibly nervous, and a little stressed.
Firstly, yesterday my request for credit transfer for university was sent off. A few years back, I completed two years of an Ancient History degree at a university, but unfortunately was unable to finish it. (International fees for students like me were extortionately high, and it all caught up with me.) I've decided that I want to get my degree, and so I am going to attempt to transfer all those credits to the Open University and see what I can do with it. I'm slightly terrified, but also very excited to think that I might finally be able to put those two years toward something.
Secondly, NaNoWriMo starts on Thursday! (If you don't know what that is, please look here!) We've had a kick-off meet, which was good fun, and we got to meet a lot of people and saw several new faces. I'm still doing research, but between today and tomorrow I need to start plotting the course this novel is going to take. I should probably get that done fairly quickly...
Thirdly, it is now all but confirmed: I am likely to be having surgery done on my wrist in the near future. Thankfully it doesn't look like it will happen until the New Year, since scheduling anything with the hospital seems to take months. But that is also terrifying. I don't handle medical stuff well. I can't even get my blood drawn or an injection without feeling faint, and occasionally passing out. But this surgery will, theoretically, make the pain in my wrist finally go away, and I am quite looking forward to that.
I don't have an ending paragraph for this post. Sorry. I will finish off by saying, though, that you can expect to be seeing a lot of writing posts over the next month as I make my NaNo run.
